EKEMON'S FAVORITE SPELLS
Eldritch Blast and Misty Step
His patron allows this spell extra oomph and he can cast it as many times as he wants. Also Misty step is a spell in his book that he likes to use. This teleports him 30 feet anywhere he can see instantly. He does not know many spells, but what he does know allows him to kick butt.

BIO AND BACKSTORY
Patron: The Great Old One
Ekemon was orphaned at the age of 10. His entire village was destroyed by a demon in a summoning gone wrong. This was about a 100 miles outside of Sharn. Ekemon escaped with what he was wearing on his back. He wandered through the woods for several days before coming upon a merchant caravan heading for Sharn. The caravan took him in as long as he earned his keep. They felt sorry for the 10 year old half demon. The merchants in the caravan spent the time playing cards at night when they took their rest. Ekemon was a quick study with deft hands. He learned to cheat at cards quickly.
When the merchant caravan got to Sharn, Ekemon found himself alone again. He was forced to live on the streets running card scams and going in and out of jail. He never found a scam he could not pass up. As the years went by he went for richer and richer people to scam. On his seventeenth birthday he was in the middle of a scam on a wealthy merchant. Things seemed to be going well and he was set for a big payday when things changed. He was concentrating on the cards and looked up, and the merchant had changed forms into something of the demonic.
“Is this what you want to do with your life boy?”
Ekemon started backing away.
“I have been watching you for some time. There is anger in you. Anger that we can use.”
Ekemon spat out “What do I have to be angry about? I have no family, I have been living on the streets since I was 10!”
“Oh poor you.” The merchant sat back laughing. “Do you think you are the only person to lose something? You are using your loss as an excuse to not do anything with your life. My patron and I can help you. We can give you power to strike back at your enemies.”
Young Ekemon was intrigued. “I’m listening.”
“Have you ever heard of spell casters? Of people that gain power from other planes of existence? These are people are called Warlocks. They are granted power. For a price…….”
“I’m afraid to ask. What is the price? By the way I don’t even know your name.”
The merchant smirked. “Names contain power boy. Do you really think I am going to give you mine? As for the price, it is really quite simple. Fealty to the being that grants you these powers. It is only fair after all, that you should show some gratitude. Also in the future the patron may need you to complete a task for them to show your loyalty. These must be done without question.”
Ekemon did not like the idea of restraints, but the idea of power intrigued him. The power to avenge his village. The power to make the world he wanted it to be. Yes, he liked that kind of power.
“Ok, I’m in.”
With those three words, his life changed forever.
